Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs has recently stated that Pakistan has enormous potential in the fields of human resources, fisheries, inexpensive labour, and agriculture.
He proposed the formation of a tax-free zone in Port Qasim for a period of ten years during a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, hoping that it would assist boost investment and growth in both countries.
According to a press release, the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest.
The federal minister emphasized the prospects in Pakistan’s maritime sector, which may benefit Japan as well.
“The blue economy idea is intended to open new corridors for Pakistan’s development. This location also provides Japan with a number of investment options,” he stated.
