First British Pakistani Woman Elected as Councillor in UK

For Higher Irlam and Peel Green, A British-Pakistani woman has been selected as a councillor in Salford.

A graduate of the University if Oxford, bag by 1,317 votes on Labour Party’s ticket. Mishal Saeed got elected.

To get the voice of residents being heard, local elections are an important opportunity in order to get their issues noticed and how they want them to be managed.

Mishal worked in several Pakistani societies during her educational phase, stating that it’s an honour for her to be elected for the role of Councillor, in order to serve her communities and to develop her city.

Earlier, Saeed has served as Student Union President at the University of Salford, where she arranged TEDx events and received a Royal seal of approval from the Duke of Edinburgh for her entrepreneurial activities.

She said that she was proud to be selected as the Labour Party candidate by her ward and residents. However, the Labour Party have an amazing legacy of transforming lives from founding NHS to initiate minimum wages. It made a enduring differences to the lives of the people all across the country.
