The Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, opened the province’s first-ever plastic road, a significant event happening at Zafar Ali Plastic Road, which stretches from Gymkhana Mall Road to Jail Road.
During the launch, the CM checked the quality and construction of this new road. He was joined by the Secretary of Communication and Works and professors from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, who explained how this road works.
The CM praised the technical skills of the UET professors involved in making this plastic road. They also revealed plans to expand this project, with Mall Road being next in line to become a plastic road.
One of the main benefits of a plastic road is its durability against rain, ensuring it lasts at least 10 years and costs less to build. This project cost Rs20 million, compared to the usual Rs60 million for a regular road.
