First-Ever Robotic Surgery Successfully Performed at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute

The first-ever robotic surgery in a public sector hospital has been successfully performed at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI).

The entire team, led by Dr. Nadeem Bin Nusrat, Chairman of the Urology Department, achieved this ground-breaking success. The patient underwent a radical nephrectomy (kidney removal) and was discharged from the hospital a few hours later.

With help from the PKLI team and CMR Surgical teams from Dubai, Karachi, and Lahore, the team includes Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehan Mohsin, Professor of Urology and leading Robotic Surgeon from SIUT Karachi, and Dr. Riaz Hussain Laghari, Associate Professor of Urology from SIUT Karachi. Prof. Saeed Akhter, Chairman of the PKLI Board of Governors, praised the medical staff.
