In 2015, Asif Faza Rana, a Pakistani government employee, announced that he was no longer pals with Mudasir. The internet would never be the same again.
Now, six years later, Rana will be selling an NFT of the photograph he originally shared on Facebook, which has become known as “Friendship Ended with Mudasir”—and he’ll be doing so on World Friendship Day, of course.
The original graphic has since inspired innumerable homages and imitations in the Friendship ended with X / Now Y is my best buddy genre, and the non-fungible token will be available for purchase today.
