General (R) Abdul Aziz Appointed as Chairman Punjab Public Service Commission

On Tuesday, Baligh Ur Rehman, the Governor of Punjab, announced the appointment of Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Abdul Aziz as the new Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Abdul Aziz will serve as the PPSC Chairman for the next three years. According to reports, he will be entitled to a monthly salary equivalent to the MP-I Pay Package, which exceeds Rs 900,000 per month.

This appointment comes after the conclusion of the three-year tenure of the former PPSC Chairman, Lieutenant General (Retired) Malik Zafar Iqbal, in February 2024. Following his tenure, the governor of Punjab selected Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Abdul Aziz to take on the role.

The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) issued an official notification regarding the appointment of the new PPSC chairman on Tuesday, in accordance with the governor’s directive. This appointment is expected to bring new leadership and direction to the PPSC as it continues its mandate of conducting fair and transparent recruitment processes for various government positions in Punjab.
