Before Eid al-Fitr, the government has decided to pay salaries and pensions to government workers and pensioners.
The decision to pay salaries and pensions before Eid was made, according to the Finance Ministry, after discussion with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, April 22, while banks will remain open till Friday, April 21.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar directed the finance secretary to make immediate arrangements for payment of salary and pension.
