Good News! IELTS Allows retaking only failed part of the test

IELTS test takers in Pakistan now have an advantageous tool at their disposal to enhance their scores and achieve their global educational and career aspirations. The introduction of IELTS One Skill Retake, available in eligible test centers across Pakistan, provides candidates the opportunity to retake one of the four skills—Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking—should they fall short of their desired score during their initial attempt.

Recognized by prominent entities such as UK Visas and Immigration, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, among others, IELTS One Skill Retake offers candidates an extra chance to meet their study and migration objectives. This feature reflects a commitment to flexibility and personalized testing experiences, aligning with the diverse needs of test takers.

Imad Chaoui, Regional Director for the Middle East, Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), emphasized the additional opportunity provided by IELTS One Skill Retake, emphasizing its potential impact on helping individuals achieve their study and migration goals.

Test takers opting for One Skill Retake receive a second Test Report Form (TRF) with their updated score, facilitating its use for migration and study purposes. Importantly, candidates have the flexibility to choose between the old and new TRF, depending on the score achieved in the retaken skill.

While the recognition of IELTS One Skill Retake for migration or study purposes is expanding, ongoing efforts involve collaboration with countries and organizations to ensure wider acceptance. Warwick Freeland, Managing Director of IELTS at IDP Education, highlighted the commitment to supporting customers in achieving their best scores while assisting organizations in attracting suitable candidates.

This innovative option is now available at selected IELTS test centers globally, including locations in Pakistan, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The initiative reflects IDP’s dedication to advancing English language testing and promoting individualized pathways for test takers worldwide.
