Google Announces to Delete Inactive Accounts

Google has announced that accounts that have been inactive for the last two years will be deleted.

If you haven’t used your Google account for a long time, sign it in once as soon as possible because Google has announced that accounts that have been inactive for two years will be deleted.

According to the report, Google’s new policy will come into effect from December 2023 and it will include Google accounts for Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar, YouTube and Photos.

Google has said in a blog post that the risk of hacking inactive accounts is high, as well as the possibility of using a 2-factor authentication setting for inactive accounts is also very low.

Google further says that the security of inactive accounts is weak and once they are hacked, they can be used for illegal purposes or to spread spam content.

The company has also said that first of all, google accounts that have never been used after creation will be deleted, while many notifications will also be sent to users before deleting the accounts, which will go to the user’s main email address as well as the backup email address.

Google said that this policy will apply to personal Google accounts, while accounts associated with organizations will not be affected.
