Google has introduced a new program called “Digital Sahafat,” specifically designed to enhance the digital journalism skills of 1,000 journalists in Pakistan. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Tech Valley, is part of the broader Google News Initiative (GNI). It aims to equip journalists with the latest tools, training, and resources needed to create accurate and engaging digital content.
The program was officially launched on September 4 in Islamabad, with prominent figures like Kate Beddoe from Google’s APAC News Partnerships participating as key speakers. This effort is a testament to Google’s ongoing commitment to advancing journalism across the globe, ensuring that journalists have the support they need to adapt to the evolving digital landscape. Through this program, Google hopes to empower Pakistani journalists to produce high-quality digital journalism that meets international standards and resonates with global audiences.
