Government Approves Minimum price for Naswar, other Tobacco Products

The Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) agreed Minimum Indicative Prices (MIP) for several types of tobacco crops for the year 2022 at a special meeting.

Mr. Shaukat Tarin, Minister of Finance and Revenue, virtually presided over a meeting to examine Minimum Indicative Prices for Tobacco, at which the Ministry of National Food Security and Research made ideas.

The price of dark air-cured tobacco (DAC) has been set at Rs149.09 per kg, while White Patta, Naswar/Snuff/Hookah, and other Rustica tobacco and its products have been set at Rs123 per kg. The rates of two varieties of Flue-Cured Virginia (FCV) have been set at Rs240 and Rs281.13/kg.
