Abdul Ghaffar Grewal, the Director of MRI- Mango Research Institute has recentlt said that a bumper mangoes production is expected including Chaunsa, Sindhary, and Samar Bahasht this year in 2021.
Abdul Ghaffar further said while talking to the APP that the federal government has set a target to export about 160,000 tonnes of the mango while generating about $120 million by the export of the this king of fruits, ‘mango’.
Moreover, he said that in the previous year the export target for the fruits was 142,000 tonnes along with the generation of about $90 million from these products.
He also maintained that the Ministry of National Food Security has established a spate special committee that comprised of official members from the Agriculture as well as other significant departments in order to conduct informative regular meetings that can help to identify the obstacles and will also provide the solutions to remove the obstacles from the way of mango exports.
