The National e-Commerce Council has recently decided to launch a focus group comprises of experts in order to address various challenges and to make Amazon a successful platform through which many Pakistanis could get advantage by selling their Pakistani products Worldwide.
It is a model that is applicable also in Indonesia, China and many more other countries.
This platform of Amazon will be available for selling only the local products abroad; however, Consumers in Pakistan will not be benefited from this decision as they won’t be able to purchase anything on tis e-commerce site.
The “focus group” would hold the monthly meetings in order to address the challenges. Mr Dawood also said “private sector of logistics and its companies have an opportunity as to scale up the businesses and develop an international partnership for making this Amazon logistics perform for effective deliveries.
However, he also said that the Amazon platform would give a boost to the exports of Pakistan and also added that the 40 exporters have been registered already.
Moreover, he also stated that the focus of this platform will be made on providing awareness among the SMEs of Pakistan.
The successful overseas sellers on this platform of Amazon are already registered and also selling their locally manufactured, Pakistani Products; however, they also have agreed to attend the awareness sessions for the Pakistani sellers in order to train them as well as to facilitate them for the benefit of the economy.
