The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formed Pakistan’s first-ever Crypto Advisory Committee, in response to the growing knowledge of cryptocurrencies in the area.
After meeting with concerned provincial assembly members who endorsed the initiative, Ziaullah Bangash, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Science and Technology, made the announcement.
He went on to say that the Advisory Committee’s first meeting will be on March 17th, and that it will “study and negotiate appropriate measures to control, legalize, and legislate key regulations.”
The meeting will be held at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technology Board, as mentioned in the notification. Members will attend the meeting both online and in person due to the current COVID-19 situation.
