Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Punjab’s Minister for Higher Education, has stated that the government plans to promote chip technology at nine universities in the province.
The announcement was made at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) during a seminar titled “Skills Creation in Micro and Nanoelectronics Design Technologies in Punjabi Universities,” which the minister attended as a special guest.
When asked about the possibility of integrating microchips and nanochips with universities in Pakistan, he said that the provincial government initially plans to promote the technology at nine well-known universities, with UET Lahore leading the charge.
Other institutes such as UET Taxila, ITU Lahore, and Islamia University Bahawalpur, will help promote chip technology in Punjab in addition to the UET Lahore campus.
