Govt Reduces Petrol Price by Rs. 9/Litre, New Price Reaches Rs.253

During a press conference, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced a reduction in petrol prices by Rs9 per litre, bringing it down to Rs253. He also stated that diesel prices would be lowered by Rs7 per litre, resulting in a new price of Rs253.5 per litre.

These new prices would be effective from midnight. Minister Dar highlighted that despite an increase in the international market price of one of the two products, it was balanced out by the recent strengthening of the Pakistani rupee.

He further mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s main focus was to provide maximum relief to the people. As a result, there would be no changes made to the petroleum development levy (PDL), which is a part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement.
