Iran Sends Major $1 Billion Crude Oil Shipment to China

Iran has sent a large shipment of crude oil to China. The value of this shipment is around $1 billion, according to Iranian media reports. This move highlights Iran’s continued efforts to sell oil despite international challenges.

Shipping experts say nine Iranian oil tankers were involved in the delivery. These tankers are under U.S. sanctions. To avoid tracking, they temporarily turned off their Automatic Identification System (AIS) during the journey. This made it harder for others to follow their movements.

China remains one of the biggest buyers of Iranian oil. Such shipments help Iran earn important foreign revenue. They also support their economy under pressure from sanctions.

This latest delivery shows the ongoing oil trade between the two countries. Iran uses various methods, including dark fleet tankers, to keep exports running. Windward, a shipping intelligence firm, noted the AIS shutdown as a common tactic in these operations.

For Iran, maintaining these exports is key for its budget and energy sector.
