Following the completion of a picturesque cricket stadium in the port city, a football stadium in the foothills of Koh-i-Batil is slated to open, much to the pleasure of Makran’s residents, particularly sports aficionados.
Mujeebur Rehman Qambrani, the director general of the Gwadar Development Authority, announced on Friday that the Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo Football Stadium had been refurbished and would be inaugurated soon by Balochistan’s Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo.
Mr Qambrani claimed the former football stadium, which covered 138,000 square feet, was outdated and devoid of greenery, and that players used to play in the dust there.
Greenery had been planted and floodlights had been installed in the stadium.
In addition to subterranean water tanks, walking pathways, and spectator washrooms, a new pavilion for spectators, a separate seating space for guests, rooms for players, and offices have been built. The parking area, as well as other areas, has been upgraded.
