Haider Sultan Wins Gold Medal in WeightLifting Event in Brics Games

Haidar Sultan from Pakistan won his first gold medal in weightlifting at the BRICS Games held in Kazan, Russia. He competed in the 61kg weight category and lifted a total of 261kg. His performance included lifting 115kg in the Snatch event and 146kg in the Clean & Jerk event.

Even though he was initially behind the Russian competitors in the Snatch event, Sultan’s impressive lift of 146kg in the Clean & Jerk secured his victory and earned him the gold medal. This achievement marks his first international gold medal in his weightlifting career.

Sultan was coached by Shuja Ud Din Malik, who is a gold medalist and record holder from the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Malik’s experience and guidance played a crucial role in Sultan’s success at the BRICS Games. This victory is a significant milestone for Sultan and highlights his potential in the sport of weightlifting.
