Hamdard Pakistan hosted the 3rd Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Awards 2025 at the Governor’s House in Lahore, bringing together more than 800 distinguished guests to honour leading Pakistanis whose work is shaping national wellbeing, progress, and public service under the theme “Wellness Redefined.” This was the first time the awards were held in Lahore, reflecting Hamdard Pakistan’s expanding national footprint and its commitment to spotlighting excellence nationwide.
The evening was graced by His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan as Chief Guest. In his address. The Governor highlighted the importance of celebrating those dedicated to knowledge, health, and community uplift, noting that Pakistan can only progress when the nation actively encourages and supports exceptional contributions.
Leadership messages: Legacy and transformation
In her remarks, Mrs. Sadia Rashid, Chairperson, Hamdard Pakistan Group, connected the ceremony to the founding vision of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. She informed attendees that Hamdard was established to generate its own resources and reinvest them into healthcare, education, and social welfare. Honouring outstanding Pakistanis, she said, is a continuation of that mission and a tribute to the values of integrity and service that have defined Hamdard for over seven decades.
Ms. Fatema Munir Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO, Hamdard Pakistan, shared key elements of Hamdard Pakistan’s ongoing transformation. She highlighted the organization’s upgraded manufacturing infrastructure, category diversification from health, medicaments and Rooh Afza drink syrup to beverages, foods and spices, spanning syrups, herbal drinks, cereals, dessert mixes, condiments and recipe mixes, alongside a strengthened retail presence and enhanced export readiness. She said that each step in Hamdard’s evolution reflects the drive to “Wellness Redefined” by making quality wellbeing solutions accessible to more people, locally and globally.
Closing the formal addresses, Mr. Faisal Nadeem Mangroria, COO, Hamdard Pakistan, thanked guests, dignitaries, media partners, and honourees, reiterating that Hamdard Pakistan’s mission will continue to expand through innovation and social impact.
Recognizing excellence across sectors
The awards began by spotlighting Education Excellence. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary was recognized for his pioneering contributions to biochemical research that have earned Pakistan international recognition. Dr. Mariam Chughtai was also honoured for her leadership in modern education and academic reform.
In Sports Excellence, international sports champion Mr. Arslan Ash received recognition for placing Pakistan on the global competitive gaming map. Squash Champions Ms. Mahnoor, Ms. Mehwish, and Ms. Sehrish Ali were honoured for their sporting achievements and for championing women’s participation in competitive sport.
Recognizing the shift in how influence spreads in the modern era, the Digital Influencers Awards were presented to Mr. Irfan Junejo and Master Muhammad Shiraz — two creators whose authenticity, creativity, and connection with audiences have contributed to more thoughtful digital narratives.
The Bravery Award went to Mr. Muhammad Ali Swati and Ms. Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi — individuals whose courage under pressure became a reference point for resilience and integrity.
In Health Excellence, Hakim Abdul Hannan was honoured for preserving Tibb-e-Unani and strengthening its relevance in contemporary healthcare. Dr. Faisal Sultan received recognition for his leadership in modern medicine and national healthcare, particularly during periods of heightened medical need.
The Leaders & Social Change Makers category honoured Ms. Roshaneh Zafar for advancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Mr. Aslam Khaliq was recognized for incorporating social impact into corporate culture. His daughter, Ms. Shaista Khaliq, received the award on his behalf.
In Journalism Excellence, Mr. Mazhar Abbas was recognized for principled journalism in a changing media environment. An exemplar of journalistic prowess, Mr. Arshad Zuberi was conferred with the prestigious award in recognition of his visionary leadership and lasting impact on nation-building. Mr. Shahab Zuberi of the Business Recorder received the award on his behalf.
The Literature Award recognized Mr. Ghazi Salahuddin, whose message was shared with the audience, and Ms. Zehra Nigah, regarded as one of the most influential voices in Urdu literature.
The Arts & Culture Excellence Award honoured Mr. Tauqeer Nasir for his contributions to theatre and screen, and Ms. Samina Peerzada for her longstanding influence as an artist and mentor.
The evening reached its emotional peak with the Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Ms. Seema Aziz for transformative work in education and social development, and to the late Mr. Talat Hussain as an enduring cultural icon. His daughter Ms. Tazeen Hussain received the award on his behalf.

The event was supported by official media partners Hum TV, Tamasha, MyCo, and Mera FM 107, helping extend its reach nationwide. The ceremony concluded with a musical performance by Mr. Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, followed by dinner for award recipients and guests.
The Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Awards 2025 reaffirmed Hamdard Pakistan’s role as an organization that channels commercial success into public wellbeing.
