World Cup Controversy! Egypt File Complaint Against Referee After World Cup Exit

Egypt have officially submitted a complaint to FIFA following their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16, claiming that several major refereeing decisions had a significant impact on the outcome of the match.

The Egyptian Football Association has requested a formal investigation into referee François Letexier and the entire match officiating team.

According to the federation, a number of crucial decisions—including the disallowing of a goal and the failure to award Egypt a penalty—deprived the Pharaohs of a fair opportunity to progress to the quarter-finals.

Head coach Hossam Hassan also voiced his frustration after the match, stating that his side was not treated fairly by the officials and insisting that key moments went against Egypt.

The controversial decisions have sparked widespread debate among fans and football analysts, with many questioning the standard of officiating in such a high-stakes encounter.

FIFA has not yet issued a public response to Egypt’s complaint or indicated whether it will launch an investigation into the allegations.
