Introduction:

Harris Jamali, an accomplished corporate veteran with 15 years of experience in strategy, finance, organizational development, and business transformation, has made significant contributions to the growth and success of TPL Trakker. In a recent interview, Jamali shared his insights on his motivation for growth, the use of telematics in vehicle tracking, and TPL Trakker’s journey so far.

A Global Perspective:

Jamali, who grew up in Hyderabad and Karachi, Pakistan, ventured to the United Kingdom after completing his schooling. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in Economics from the prestigious London School of Economics. After a decade in investment banking and international travel, the opportunity to return to Pakistan arose, leading him to join TCS, a leading courier company. Eventually, after four years at TCS, Jamali made the decision to move to TPL Trakker.

The Genesis of TPL Trakker and Evolution:

Jamali emphasized that TPL Trakker’s inception was rooted in a need arising from a specific law and order situation in Pakistan. The company filled the gap by providing service-based tracking and fleet management solutions. Over the past five to six years, TPL Trakker has evolved, incorporating mobile dashboards, fuel analytics, and other innovative solutions. By addressing inflation and cost pressures, the company has helped clients optimize fuel consumption, predict maintenance schedules, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Motivation for Growth:

When asked about his motivation for growth, Jamali highlighted the strong desire to compete and position TPL Trakker as a global player. Having observed the success of neighboring countries and regional counterparts, he believes that Pakistan should not be left behind. Jamali emphasized the importance of empowering users and simplifying product offerings to meet customer needs effectively.

Telematics and Its Impact on Vehicle Tracking:

Jamali discussed the significance of telematics in TPL Trakker’s vision of connecting the future. Telematics involves merging data from various sources, including sensors and devices, to create a comprehensive and meaningful picture. Operational efficiency greatly depends on the quality of devices, connectivity, and data coverage. To ensure success, TPL Trakker has been recruiting talent with experience in enterprise solutions and effective communication skills, simplifying the sales process by articulating product benefits clearly to customers.
