Hasan Siddiqui, PAF Pilot who shot down Indian warplane

Hasan Siddiqui is the silent PAF hero behind the Indian aircraft shot down that had violated Pakistani airspace.

As soon as Siddiqui’s plane landed, he got a hero’s welcome. After successfully engaging the Indian planes, PAF officials surrounded his aircraft, according to a video circulating on social media. Squadron chief Hasan Siddiqui appeared in a video three years ago, paying tribute to the courage and professionalism of the squadron.

Tensions between the two countries escalated as India blamed Pakistan for the Pulwama attack without any evidence, killing at least 40 Indian paramilitary soldiers.

On February 26, Indian Air Force jets violated Pakistan’s airspace and were compelled to return due to the PAF’s “Timely response” On February 27, the PAF shot down two Indian warplanes in Pakistan’s airspace and captured Abhinandan Varthaman, an Indian pilot who was released as a ‘Peace gesture’ on March 1.
