Dr Syed Bilal Haider, the commissioner of PESSI said that Punjab Employees Social Security Institution- PESSI will soon deliver the health cards to about 300,000 labourers conveniently at their doorstep.
This issue regarding health card was raised by Ch. Mohammad Farooq, the ARRA general secretary and it was discussed in a meeting with the PESSI’s commissioner.
Moreover, the social security benefits for the industrial employees include the dower fund scholarships, death grants and the health cover.
Meanwhile, it was said that the restaurants also deposited their monthly contribution to the PESSI as in the social security benefits for the employees.
However, it was added that most of the contributions like the major part of it remain unused or even under-utilized just due to the red-tape and also the time consuming and complicated registration process.
