Higher Education Commission has recently revised its policy regarding the Ph.D. admissions. Students who have completed their BS degree can now directly apply for Ph.D program as per the revised policy.
The policy stated that the minimum tenure of the Ph.D. degree program will be three years whereas the maximum duration for it will be eight years. It also has abolished their requirement of having a previous qualification in same discipline for applying for the specific Ph.D. program.
In case of non-implementation or the violation of revised policy, HEC will take strict actions against the universities ranging from the warnings and suspension or non-verification of credentials or even revocation of NOC for the admissions.
Moreover, Federation of All Pakistani Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) has also expressed their serious concerns and has rejected the revised policy that is given by HEC as per reports.
Important Note: The HEC has not issued the official notification yet for this revised policy.
