HEC to Provide Disabled Students with Free Education

Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan said on Monday that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is currently working on a new policy for post-graduate students with disabilities.

The new HEC policy aims to provide students with disabilities and special needs who are completing higher education programs with free education and improved banking facilities.

There are currently 330,000 disabled persons listed on the NADRA database, and a monthly stipend of Rs. 2,000 for each disabled person has already been announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan. In addition, the government divisions concerned collect data from unregistered persons under the flagship of Ehsaas to provide them with loans in simple installments.
