Here’re Working Hours for Govt Offices during Month of Ramadan

The federal government has announced new working hours for its offices during the holy month of Ramadan. The revised schedule aims to facilitate employees while maintaining smooth operations.

According to an official notification, government offices following a five-day workweek will operate from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Meanwhile, offices that remain open for six days a week will function from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

To accommodate Friday prayers, all government offices will close early on Fridays, with working hours set from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. This adjustment ensures that employees can fulfill their religious obligations without disrupting work schedules.

Apart from government offices, Pakistan Railways has also updated the working hours for its reservation offices. During Ramadan, the reservation offices will function in two shifts: the morning shift will run from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the evening shift will operate from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On Fridays, there will be a break between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm for Jumu’ah prayers. However, reservation offices operating on a single shift will continue with their usual timings.

These temporary adjustments will remain in effect until the 15th of Ramadan. After this period, all government offices and railway reservation centers will revert to their regular schedules.

The government’s decision to modify working hours reflects its commitment to ensuring a balanced approach between professional responsibilities and religious observances during the sacred month.
