UAE residents can now apply for a 90-day visa to Japan via the newly introduced eVISA system. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan, unveiled the online visa application system effective from 27th March 2023.
Eligibility
All foreign nationals or individuals who are not subjected to the visa exemption by the Government of Japan are eligible to apply. The eligibility for the Japan eVisa mandates the possession of:
- Valid passport.
- Emirates ID.
- UAE Resident visa.
The eVisa is valid for three months from the day of issuance, allowing a 90-day stay for tourism. The processing time from application issuance is approximately five working days.
Associated Costs
The visa issuance fee is Dh82 with exemptions and reduced fees for specific nationalities. Residents of Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah can pay the visa fee in cash at the Consulate General of Japan. However, the individuals residing in Abu Dhabi are directed to visit the Embassy of Japan.

- Receive your eVisa.

- Copy of passport.
- Recent photograph.
- Copy of Emirates ID.
- Itinerary with flight information.
- Schedule of stay with entry and departure dates.
- Information of hotel you will be staying at.
- Certificate of employment of the applicant.
- Bank statement of at least three months.
