Here’s How You Can Renew Your NIC Without Standing in Long Queues

Tired of waiting in long lines at NADRA service centers? Well, here’s some good news for residents of Karachi! NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) is introducing new conveniences, including the option to renew national identity cards at post offices in Karachi.

To make this happen, special counters have been set up at 10 General Post Offices (GPOs) across Karachi, including Saddar and II Chandragar Road. These counters are equipped with devices linked to the NADRA system, allowing you to renew your NIC (National Identity Card) conveniently.

Now, you can renew your NIC at the post office even if it has expired, but within a year of its expiry date. However, please note that these post office counters don’t offer biometric services for blood relatives, and you’ll need a Grade 16 officer to assist with the NIC renewal process. Also, services like PRC (Pakistan Origin Card) and Form B are not available at the post offices.

In addition to this, NADRA has introduced a unique service called the “Biker Service” in Karachi. It’s like having a portable NADRA center that comes to your doorstep. With this service, registration officers, including female officers on scooters, will visit your home to register you for your CNIC. While this service comes with an extra fee in addition to the standard CNIC fee, it saves you the trouble of going to a NADRA center. After the registration process is complete, your CNIC will be delivered right to your doorstep.

These initiatives aim to make the process of obtaining or renewing your NIC more convenient and accessible, reducing the hassle of waiting in long queues and streamlining the services offered by NADRA.
