Hero of 1965 War: MM Alam’s Record Shooting Down Five Indian Planes in Less Than a Minute Remains Unbeaten

Muhammad Mahmood Alam’s heroic record of taking down 5 Indian planes in less than a minute is an unparalleled feat. Alam was a legendary pilot of Pakistan Air Force who made a breakthrough to be remembered forever on 7th September 1965. The pilot was on his F-86 Sabre jet plane when he defeated five Indian planes.

MM Alam was honoured with the title ‘Ace in a Day’ for his heroic act. During 11-day war period, the brave pilot eliminated nine (confirmed) and two probable kills. For the exceptional act of fearlessness, MM Alam was bestowed with the prestigious award ‘Sitara-e-Jurat’ with BAR, which is a highly esteemed military honour.
