Honda Announces New City’s Official Launch Date

Because of the imminent debuts of some highly anticipated vehicles, July 2021 will be an exciting month for car enthusiasts in Pakistan. The ‘new’ Honda City is one of the vehicles that will be unveiled this month.

This City will succeed the 5th Generation predecessor, which has been sold in Pakistan for more than a decade, and will compete directly with the Toyota Yaris and Changan Alsvin.

In Pakistan, it will be offered with two engine options. A 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 89 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque, while a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 118 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The engine will be connected to either a manual or a CVT transmission, depending on the version.

Pakwheels.com shared a screenshot of an invoice last month that indicated the pricing of one of the City’s variations to be Rs. 2,725,000. According to the source, the starting price of the ‘new’ Honda City in a 1200cc type with a manual gearbox will be roughly Rs. 2,525,000, as a CVT transmission in a car in Pakistan generally commands a premium of Rs. 200,000.

The new City, on the other hand, will face stiff competition from the Yaris and the Alsvin, both of which are newer, albeit similarly equipped vehicles. In addition, while the Yaris is pricey, the Alsvin is a less priced option to the City.
