Auto Parts Technology Park to be Built in Punjab

Mian Aslam Iqbal, Punjab’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, has announced that the Punjab government is proposing to establish an Auto Parts Technology Park near Lahore to boost the province’s rising industrialization.

The new facility will be built in Sheikhupura’s Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and one of the Punjab government’s eight industrial parks.

Iqbal stated during a meeting with members of the Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) that the Auto Parts Technology Park would be built on nine acres of land and would help the auto industry with product design, training centres, parts manufacturing, testing, and other services.

Textile, pharmaceutical, plastic, cleaning goods, clothing, auto parts, cosmetics, and cold storage would be among the businesses represented at the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. The minister bragged that by establishing new industrial zones around the state, the Punjab administration has cleared the path for an industrial revolution.

“Colonization of industrial estates can promote economic growth; therefore, the PIEDMC should concentrate on colonisation of industrial zones,” Iqbal stated. He revealed that the Sundar Industrial Estate was being expanded to make it more accessible to industrialists and increase investment.

The provincial minister directed that a meeting be conducted to prepare a land acquisition model for the expanded project, and that PC-I of the additional projects would be finished by July 15, 2021.

The minister stated that the Bahawalpur industrial park would be launched after Eid, giving instructions to begin construction work on the Chunian Aqua Business Park.

The minister also stated that the Sundar-Raiwind and Manga-Raiwind roads would be widened to ease traffic flow in the Sundar Industrial Estate.
