IBA Graduate Sabir Sami Becomes KFC Global CEO

Sabir Sami, a Pakistan born IBA graduate has been promoted to KFC Division Chief Executive Officer. Tony Lowings, who is stepping down as CEO at the end of 2021 in preparation for his retirement in early 2022, will be replaced by Sami. Currently, Sami is the KFC Division Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of KFC Asia. Dyke Shipp is the KFC Division Chief Development Officer and Chief People Officer. On January 1, 2022 Dyke will be promoted to KFC Division’s President and will be Sami’s subordinate.

Mr. Sami graduated from the IBA in 1988 with a degree in Marketing. He has extensive international senior management experience in marketing, operations, and general management with multinational consumer products businesses such as P&G, Cocoa-Cola, Reckitt Benckiser, and Yum! Brands, spanning more than 30 years. Strategy development, organizational change management, and people development are among his specialties.
