ICC rights been secured by PTV and ARY till the 2023 World Cup

Pakistan Television and ARY, a pay-television network, have been granted exclusive local media rights to International Cricket Council events until 2023.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE and Oman, which began on October 17 and ends on November 14, is included in the rights, which cover both linear and digital broadcasts.

The Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted in India in October and November 2023, is the final competition included in the agreement.

The agreement is believed to be a three-way partnership between PTV, ARY, and GroupM, a media investment firm owned by global media conglomerate WPP. The contract entails GroupM managing the flow of advertising income to the two stations.

PTV Sports and ARY’s A-Sports, the country’s first high-definition sports channel, are now broadcasting the T20 World Cup.

Ten Sports, a pay-television network, is also airing the competition as part of a contract that includes carriage of the ARY stream.

The digital rights to the current T20 World Cup were sublicensed by PTV and ARY to Alibaba-owned online shopping site Daraz.
