In the next few months, the world-famous furniture retail company IKEA is said to be entering the Pakistani markets. IKEA, a multinational conglomerate known for its innovative designs and ready-to-assemble furniture, is likely to bring its cost-effective product line to the Pakistani market that is commercially estranged.

The news of IKEA’s launch in Pakistan reached the local media after the news was announced by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Mohammad Faisal.

Dr. Faisal said in a statement that he recently met Dieter Mettke, an IKEA official who is supposed to lead the operations of the multinational conglomerate in Pakistan. Dr. Faisal said in what is now a deleted tweet,

“IKEA Deutschland met Dieter Mettke. To be in charge of Ikea operations, he is going to Pakistan. We look forward to the launch of Ikea stores in Main Cities of Pakistan.”

Since 2008, IKEA has become the world’s largest retailer of furniture. The multinational company opened a store in India in 2018.
