New Jersey: An imam was stabbed during fajr prayers at the Jama Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque in Peasek County, New Jersey.
About 200 worshippers were present at the mosque at the time of the knife attack, us media reported, worshippers overpowered the attacker and later handed him over to the police.
According to US media, the 65-year-old Imam of Masjid Sayyid al-Naqib was injured in the knife attack, but his condition is out of danger.
US media have also reported that the accused who attacked the Imam Mosque has been arrested, who has been identified as 32-year-old Serif Zorba.
Police have not revealed the reasons for the attack.
The police will produce the accused in a local court on Monday.
