In a major boost to India’s self-reliance mission, Mercedes-Benz has launched its first fully ‘Made in India’ electric car with a remarkable range of 850 kilometers on a single charge on September 2022.
This latest development is expected to revolutionize the electric vehicle market in India and reinforce the country’s position as a leading hub for automobile manufacturing.
The electric car, named EQS, was unveiled by the German luxury carmaker at its production facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The EQS boasts of an impressive design and cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most advanced electric cars in the world.
The car’s electric motor can generate up to 516 horsepower and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric cars in the market.
It also comes with a host of advanced features, including a digital dashboard, augmented reality head-up display, and a 56-inch hyperscreen that spans the entire width of the car.
The EQS is currently available for pre-booking in India, with deliveries set to begin in the coming months. The car is priced at INR 1.5 crore ($200,000) and will be available in select dealerships across the country.
