India ranked 3rd in the number of self-made billionaires, with a total number of 105 billionaires on the list as per 2023 Hurun Global Rich List.
The altogether wealth of all 105 billionaires is US$ 381 billion, according to report.
Moreover, according to the report the Indian representation is increasing continuously in last 5 years. Right now, 8% of the total global billionaire population belongs to India, while around 5 years back it was calculated as 4.9%.
The report highlights that 70% of the billionaire are self made while the remaining 30% got in inherited category. 57% of self-made billionaires belongs to India.
It’s noted in report that the count of self-made billionaires has been raised from 69% in last 5 years.
However, the one who inherited their wealth have grown it aggressively, such as Bernard Arnault who turned US$ 15 million into US$ 200 billion, and Mukesh Ambani of Reliance who inherited US$ 10 billion and grew it to approximately US$ 100 billion in 20 years.
