Lovesy Mole Achamma, a nurse based in Abu Dhabi, won Dh20 million in the recent Big Ticket draw. She has been living in the UAE for 21 years and works at a hospital in the capital. Achamma purchases her lottery tickets at the counter in Abu Dhabi International Airport when she travels.
She plans to share the prize money with her brother-in-law and donate a portion to charity. Some of the money will also be used for her children’s higher education. Achamma’s husband was in India enrolling their daughter at university when she received the news of her win.
The Big Ticket draw, which began in 1992, is a popular monthly event in the UAE that has positively impacted many lives. In previous draws, a Bangladeshi driver won Dh35 million, and an Indian resident won Dh15 million while waiting to board a flight at the same airport.
