In March 2021, industrial power usage increased by 15% year on year compared to March 2019.
Hammad Azhar, the Minister for Energy, declared the news on Twitter on Wednesday.
“The success of the Industrial Energy Package can be gauged by the fact that industrial power consumption increased by 15% in March this year compared to March 2019 (not just 2020 as the COVID-19 lockdown low base effect),” Azhar said.
This also demonstrates that the government’s energy relief package has boosted industrial power demand.
He also stated that during peak hours, the registered increase is 38 percent.
