Inflation in Pakistan Hits All-Time High of 48.35%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) established inflation for the week finished May 4, 2023, registered an increase of 1.05 per cent and aviated to an all-time high of 48.35 per cent on a year-on-year basis due to the rise in the costs of foodstuffs and non-food items.

The year-on-year trend shows an expansion of 48.35 per centPetrol (87.81 per cent), Rice Irri-6/9 (84.43 per cent), and Pulse Moong (68.44 per cent). Diesel (99.39 per cent), Eggs (95.45 per cent), Rice Basmati Broken (89.31 per cent), Bananas (87.86 per cent), Wheat Flour (177.61 per cent), Cigarettes (146.44 per cent), Tea Lipton (104.28 per cent), Gents Sponge Chappal (100.33 per cent)
