According to the statement made by Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini- Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Iran stands ready to provide more electricity to Pakistan & the infrastructure required in this matter is being constructed.
As per the sources, he made the announcement during a meeting with Muhammad Hammad Azhar- Federal Minister for Energy. They also discussed in the meeting about the other matters related to the partnership between the two countries in the energy sector.
The Iranian ambassador pointed out that the strong coordination between the respective organizations concerned with the import of electricity was necessary for the early arrival of the new project.
Federal Minister for Energy said that in accordance with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that signed during the recent visit of Pakistan’s prime minister to Iran, Pakistan Govt was dedicated to working for additional boosting cooperation between the 2 countries in the energy sector
Underlining the importance of Iranian electricity import to the adjoining areas of Balochistan, especially Gwadar, Azhar told that it has been playing a crucial role in the supply of electricity to these areas.
