Islamabad on Red Alert: Main Red Zone Roads Closed Today Due to Protest

Islamabad Police have closed key entry points to the Red Zone due to an ongoing protest by lawyers. As a result, Metro bus services between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been suspended, causing inconvenience to daily commuters.

The blocked routes include Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Express Chowk, and Kashmir Highway leading to Pak Secretariat. These closures have led to major traffic jams, making it difficult for people to reach government offices and other destinations.

Citizens traveling to the Red Zone are facing serious difficulties, as most roads remain blocked. The only available route for entry is Margalla Road, which is now experiencing heavy traffic. The Islamabad Traffic Police have advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes.

To help people navigate the situation, the traffic police have urged citizens to stay updated through their official helpline at 1915 or check their social media pages for real-time traffic updates.

The protest has significantly impacted daily life, with many office workers, students, and other travelers struggling to reach their destinations. The authorities have not yet provided a timeline for when the roads will reopen, adding to the uncertainty.

Residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are advised to avoid unnecessary travel towards the affected areas and seek alternate routes wherever possible. The situation remains tense, and further developments will determine when normal traffic flow can resume.
