Islamabad to Install New York’s Times Square Like Digital Boards for Ads

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to introduce digital advertising boards similar to those in Times Square, New York. This decision was made during a recent meeting that focused on launching the 2024 advertising policy for Islamabad.

The meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, aimed to update and modernize the city’s advertising practices by moving away from traditional methods.

In this meeting, senior CDA officials and representatives from relevant departments discussed the new advertising policy. Chairman Randhawa emphasized the importance of quickly finalizing and implementing the 2024 advertising policy.

He highlighted that the new policy will see the installation of digital advertising boards throughout the city, which will replace conventional billboards and posters.

According to a statement from the CDA, the new digital boards will be strategically placed along highways, avenues, commercial hubs, and bus stops. This move is intended to enhance the visual appeal of the city and bring its advertising practices in line with global standards.

The digital boards are expected to be more efficient and engaging compared to traditional advertising methods.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize Islamabad’s infrastructure and services. By adopting digital advertising, the CDA aims to not only improve the aesthetic of the city but also provide a more dynamic and interactive platform for advertisers.

This shift to digital is also seen as a way to better manage and regulate advertising spaces, ensuring that the city’s landscape remains orderly and visually pleasing.

Chairman Randhawa stressed the need for all departments involved to work together to ensure the swift and smooth rollout of this new advertising policy. The digital boards are expected to bring in additional revenue for the city while providing businesses with a modern and effective way to reach their audience.
