Sharjah government has announced a 4 day holiday for public sector employees to celebrate the Islamic New Year. The holiday will begin on Thursday, July 20, 2023, and work will resume on Monday, July 24, 2023.
This long weekend is a result of the three day weekend policy implemented earlier. It grants employees Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off.
Moreover, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has confirmed that Friday, July 21, will be a holiday for federal government employees in observance of the Hijri New Year.
This decision aligns with the official holiday agenda approved for the government and private sectors in the UAE for 2023, following the Cabinet’s Resolution.
