Karachi Experiences 9.7°C Coldest Night of the Year

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi dropped to 9.7 degrees Celsius Saturday night, making it the coldest night of the year (PMD).

It is a rare occurence in Karachi, according to the PMD. The city is currently being influenced by northeastern winds blowing at seven kilometres per hour, with an atmospheric humidity level of 87 percent.

As per the PMD, the weather in the metropolis became more extreme as a result of the recent winter rains. Further, Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz, Chief Meteorologist of PMD stated that the city’s current cold wave could last until January 16. After January 16, another westerly system is predicted to enter Balochistan via Iran, he added.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi dipped to 9.7 degrees Celsius Saturday night, making it the coldest night of the year (PMD).

Meanwhile, the Met Office predicts that the city’s temperature will fluctuate from 9 to 11 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours.
