The Information Technology (IT) Park, which is recently being built in Karachi at a cost of Rs31 billion, is expected to house roughly 210 companies with a total workforce of 8,400 people.

As per a senior official with the Ministry of Information Technology, this facility is part of a bigger government effort to construct purpose-built IT zones and parks in key places across the country.

“This facility is part of the government’s aim to develop IT zones and software parks, as well as to establish purpose-built software technology parks in major cities around the country,” added the official.

The project will include a multi-story office structure with eight floors above ground and three basement floors, which is expected to attract a slew of foreign enterprises and global IT organizations as investors.
