According to the Met Office, temperatures could reach up to 43°C, with hot and humid weather conditions continuing for three more days. The hottest area in Karachi was Gulistan-e-Johar, which saw temperatures soar to 43.7°C. The airport area followed closely with 42.8°C, while Shahrah-e-Faisal recorded 40.5°C and Maripur saw 40.2°C.

On average, the temperature across Karachi was 42.6°C, indicating a significant heatwave affecting the city. With these extreme temperatures, it is crucial for residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and stay in shaded or air-conditioned places as much as possible.

The health authorities are advising people, especially the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions, to be extra cautious during this period. Simple measures like wearing light clothing, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding direct sunlight can help prevent heat-related illnesses.

The city officials are also working on setting up cooling centers and providing emergency medical services to cope with the potential health impacts of this heatwave.
