Kids make 15 (80 percent) prank calls

Children are responsible for up to 80% of the hoax applications made on officers emergency helpline 15.

The startling statistic was discovered in a study conducted by the Punjab Sustainable Cities Organization (PSCA).

According to the government, the helpline receives 9,000 to 10,000 calls every day from Lahore. Approximately 90% of the calls were fraudulent, irrelevant, or a prank.

The volume of fraudulent calls, according to PSCA Chief Operating Officer (COO) Kamran Khan, is upsetting since it wastes resources and time while obstructing rapid response to people screaming for aid in crisis.

He stated that some proposals for concerted response against such calls had surfaced, but that such action would necessitate time-consuming legal measures.

Following a review of the fake calls, the authority decided to intervene on its own as a precaution. About 200 numbers were detected as having made constant attempts to the helpline, according to the experts.
