KP CM Appoints Footballer Who Sold Jalebi for a Living as Govt Coach and Awards Him PKR 1 Million

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has appointed Pakistani footballer Mohammad Riaz as a government coach.

Riaz, who comes from Hangu, has played for Pakistan at the international level. He recently gained attention when a video of him working at a sweet shop went viral. This video highlighted the financial struggles faced by athletes in the country.

After seeing the video, the Chief Minister invited Riaz to CM House and announced his new role as a government football coach. To appreciate his contributions to football, the CM also gave him a check worth 1 million rupees.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also recognized Riaz’s dedication to the sport and awarded him 2.5 million rupees.

This support from the government is a step toward acknowledging and encouraging talented athletes who have represented Pakistan on an international level.
